My Mighty Nifty Room
It's Chinese New Year Eve today. I came home earlier than usual. I thought of cleaning up my room a little bit to usher in a brand new lunar year. Then I realised that my room is so bare that I don't have much to clean up.
Before September 2004, I was still sharing room with my elder sister. After my 15 year old little flat got renovated, I finally have my own room. My little private haven now.
To a LARGE extent, I hated sharing room with my sister. Before I start to ramble how messy she is and how incorrigible some of her living habits are, I shall rest my case and share with you my delights in this new found territory.
I love my new room. It still smells of freshly funished paint. I chose apple green shade for 3 sides of the walls and lime green for the other one.
I do not have a proper bed. I sleep on a thin mattress of about 5cm. Thin, but thick enough to cushion me from the floor. No backaches. No stiff necks.
I keep my room bare. A white wardrobe; an enclosed white book shelf; a little TV on a white short tv console; a small brown coffee table; most prominently, a purple velvet sofa chair. I call it the Princess Chair. And I have a 1000 pcs jigsaw puzzleof the Prince dancing with Cinderella hung in front of the chair.
I do alot of things in my room, besides sleeping and changing in and out of clothes. I makeup in the room; I chat online with friends in the room; I do situps in the room (yes I still do occasionally); I talk to friends on the phone in the room; I do jigsaw puzzle in the room; I cut my nails in the room; I watch American Idol in the room; I space out in the room, etc.
I'm going to miss my room when I go Shanghai.
What is my new room in Shanghai going to be?
I'll fill you in after 01 April 2005.
